About him:
He's one of the bullies at school (including Kevin, Georg and Nea) ‒ in fact, students are afraid of him the most, because he looks "foreign", never speaks a word and always stands in the background looking menacing. Sometimes girls find his attitude and coldness attracting and there're several stories about it, but actually he has never been seen close to a girl. Most, if not all of these stories seem to be premature rumours at best. He has no real friends at school and even Kevin and George he usually hangs out with regard him as a kind of footboy or even mock him. But this feeling is mutual and because there seems to be no-one who likes him, he accepts it. Zahir can be a time bomb and acts incredibly brutal if people tease him too much (especially Kevin exactly knows how to "misuse" Zahir's personality for his plans or to intimidate other students). Zahir is usually the one who gets punished for Kevin's ideas, but even his teachers are a bit afraid of him. That's why he gets out of punishment easily.

Life:
Zahir's family left Iran when he was 9 years old. They spent half a year in Turkey and then moved to Europe where they were taken to a refugee camp near Athens. Their immigration was difficult, their living conditions unbearable and the strictness of Zahir's father did one last thing to make Zahir bitter. They moved to Germany where they exchanged the mistreatment of the directors of the refugee camp for the mistreatment of the directors of German agencies.
Zahir has difficulties with the German language ‒ that's why he doesn't want to talk much. He fears people might regard him as stupid or weak if he makes mistakes or if he acts cluelessly. He thinks Germans are mean and cold and because of this he tries to be equally mean not to be an easy target. He has never been interested in the rumours people tell about him, but he accepts them, because they portray him as mysterious, aloof and dangerous. This keeps annoying people away. Contrary to those rumours, he has never been interested in girls either. He noticed that he likes boys in a way he cannot explain and thinking about other guys makes him extremely nervous and almost causes him physical pain. He doesn't know what to think of his feelings. He thinks they come from something external like an evil spirit or some shit that wants to fuck with his head and whenever a boy is nice to him he takes it as another evil trick to confuse him and to turn him into something he's afraid of. He accepts Kevin and Georg, because they treat him badly and mock him like "normal" boys do. They don't want to get into his head and fuck with his emotions. He would never admit his special feelings to himself and his father would kill him or at least beat him half-dead if he found out. In fact, the strictness and conservativeness of his father combined with Zahir's own rigid views on how he should behave are the biggest problem for him to adapt to this strange "new" culture.
